Fun retro and family friendly place to get ice cream and play board games. Had the dairy free ice cream with Oreos. There are a lot of flavors and toppings! Service was friendly.

Such a fun spot!! The ambiance is hard to beat. So many cool things to look at, I feel like I could spend a whole day just taking it all in. The ice cream was tasty too!

We were saddened to hear that the beloved owner, Mr. Bill, was selling the shop. We went by, knowing he would not be behind the counter, and while the experience wasn't quite the same without Mr. Bill's presence, but we still had a great visit. The kids got their usuals, and were bummed that the employee behind the counter didn't say "Stupid Man" or "caca candy" when ordering their Superman and cotton candy ice cream. We played our usual game of "can we spot something we haven't seen/noticed before" while we ate our ice cream, and the kids got to play in the kiddie area afterwards. While Mr. Bill wasn't there, we were told that he comes in and works behind the counter a couple of times a week, and we look forward to the possibility of seeing him again. At the end of the day, not much has changed. I Scream Ice Cream is still a great place to get a sweet treat and enjoy some time with the kids.

I like I Scream Ice Cream! It's a retro ice cream shop that offers huge selection of ice cream flavors (and toppings). The environment also takes you back in time to see all the fun paraphernalia back in the past. While the ice cream isn't homemade, I think this shop offers a good opportunity to just come and relax and enjoy your time with some cool desserts. You can get to try many flavors in a single order (get upto 3 flavors and a free topping in a cup!) The staff was polite and let me take my sweet time to decide on what I wanted. The serving portion was generous as well. This place was popular! I came in around 7pm and there were 10+ people coming in and out! Very nice and relaxing and just a cool environment to enjoy desserts! I would love to stop by again and love that we have this unique ice cream shop here in this university area!

What an incredible spot for ice cream in ABQ! The owner Richard has tons of antique stuff, games and machines that would entertain the kids and adults alike. The ice cream was top notch a lot from blue bell which we appreciated as Texans and many other places. We loved getting to talk to the owner and learn his story and how he built his shop. Free topping for everyone and can have up to 3 scoops in a cup. We'll be back!

This is the coolest little funky icecream place in town.. owner is friendly and fun, and the decor is maximalist. But its a great deal and a ton of fun.

The owner is a total hoot! He was the one serving and there was no shortage of jokes! Stop in for some lovely picks of ice cream PLUS a free topping (I recommend hot fudge). I had more fun checking out the collection on and in every nook and cranny! The old school EVERYTHING made the visit so cool!

What a fun, quirky ice cream spot! The small space is part dining room, part retro toy shop, part coffee shop, part museum & lots of fun. Dropped in and enjoyed two small cups of ice cream (includes three scoops) and one topping. My son ordered Cookies & Cream with Oreo topping. I opted for Cookie Dough, Cookies & Cream and Moooolicious ice cream with waffle crumb topping. The service at counter and from owner were top notch and very welcoming!

The owner is super nice and has so many flavors to choose from including Blue Bell, but also flavors from Michigan and New York. I love how he displays his collection and lets people play with some of the retro toys. There's also a great kids area which was perfect for my toddler. Like a McDonald's Play Place but better. One thing I am so thankful for is that I left my card there by accident. He had kept it safe for me and I was able to get it when I drove back the next day. Highly recommend to support this small business and get some lovely ice cream in a fun environment.
